Jacqueline’s love of dance was sparked at the age of 2 and fanned into a steady flame over 14 years of study. The first year she was taught ballet by her mother, then she began study at Academy of Dance, training in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, modern, and musical theater. A dedicated member of Synergy Dance Company for 11 years, she loves learning from some of the industry’s most influential dancers and choreographers via workshops, conventions, and competitions. Jacqueline has been honored to receive scholarships, judge’s choice, and category awards. In addition to dance, she also practiced gymnastics for 6 years and enjoyed performing at Tacoma Musical Playhouse.
Jacqueline has always had a love and passion for working with children and, as such, has 6 years combined experience as a Teacher’s Assistant and Apprentice at Academy of Dance. Additionally, she has 8 years of experience caring for and leading children ages 0-12 in her church’s nursery, preschool, childcare, and kids’ camps, and she’s treasured every moment of it. Jacqueline looks forward to teaching dance for many years.
Jacqueline believes that every child has tremendous potential, and she endeavors to help students grow as dancers, feel confident, motivated, and inspired, and to make them feel welcome, valued, and comfortable in the learning environment. She wants to see her students strive, succeed, celebrate accomplishments, encourage each other, build relationships, and enjoy all of the hard work, dedication, and artistry that they put into dance.
