Emily Psyk is a homeschooling mother of 4, with 12 years of ballet experience. She was born and raised in Washington where she started dancing at the age of 3. The majority of Emily’s training was with Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, where she had the opportunity to explore different dance styles such as jazz, modern and even folk, but ballet has always had her heart and was her primary focus. In high school, Emily taught her own own ballet classes for young girls at her former elementary school. Towards the end of high school, Emily put a pin in dance
and focused on college. She started at the University of Portland where she studied Business Administration and Marketing. Half-way through, she transferred to the University of Arizona where she received a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and Human Development. After college Emily worked in early childhood education and as a project manager for a restoration company. Emily’s oldest daughter started at Academy of Dance when their family moved to the Kitsap area in 2019. Having her own child in ballet made her realize how much she missed it. And Emily is very excited to have the opportunity to step back into the dance world as an instructor at Academy of Dance!
